David Whitmer’s church chose to reprint the 1830, first edition, Palmyra Book of Mormon rather than the last edition Joseph worked on (1840 Nauvoo) fearing his changes were uninspired. The Whitmer edition was printed in 1899 and was called the “Nephite Record”:
